A Time for Everything

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.”
                                                              Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

As we move from carefree summer months to the busy fall season filled with school, sports, and new programs at church, I am reminded of this passage in Ecclesiastes.  I know these verses are often read at funerals, but weeping, mourning, breaking down, and plucking up are only half of the story!  During this approaching time of change, let’s focus on God’s sovereignty in also giving us a time for new beginnings…for laughter, dancing, seeking, and embracing! As my family and I look forward to the birth of our third child (who is probably going to arrive right in the middle of the beginning of all of our new children’s programs!), I am relying on God’s sovereignty in entrusting me with this ministry at the same time! He has blessed me with a Children’s Ministry Team that is unparalleled in their servant’s hearts.  So many are willing to step forward to not only cover the roles they have committed to, but to also cover my roles for a few weeks as well!  Thank you all so much for all of your help!

ONE MORE PLEA…ARE YOU BEING CALLED INTO CHILDREN’S MINISTRY?

Although there has been an inquiry here or there, we are still searching for people to take over the Pre-K/Kindergarten Sunday School class that Robert and I are now teaching. If you are interested but not completely sure if this area of ministry is where God is calling you, we can certainly attempt a trial run!  Please contact me if you are interested in serving!
