Thank you so much for your overwhelming support of Children’s Ministry and for appointing me as Children’s Director! I am so excited to continue on this journey that God has been calling me to for quite some time. Many fun and exciting things are in the works for the summer, and I want to fill you in.
VBS
We averaged 95 students in attendance each day, which does not include our member volunteers’ preschoolers and nursery-aged children. Thanks to the 27 adult volunteers and several youth, over 100 children heard the Gospel each day! A special “Thank You” to Tonja Adams, VBS Director! She served tirelessly from about February through this past week, ensuring that through prayer and seeking God’s will, VBS would be a success…AND IT WAS!
Kid’s Camp
We have 12 campers and 3 sponsors attending MetroCamp 2014 at Riverbend Retreat Center in Glen Rose, July 2nd-6th. Thanks to the many love offerings given and your participation in our fundraiser breakfast, the cost is going to be minimal for each camper. Thank you, church family, for your financial support! Even more important than your financial support, I want to ask you to pray for each person attending camp. Please begin to pray now that God will shape and mold each heart in preparation for the message he has for each participant. If you would like a list of names, so that you can pray for specific campers, please contact me or the church office.
Sunday School and Wednesday Evening
This week in Sunday school, K-6th will begin a new unit in the Gospel Project entitled “The Forerunner of the Savior.” This week’s lesson is “The Genealogy of Christ,” from Matthew 1:1-17 and Luke 3:23-38.
On Wednesday night, we will continue our study on “The Armor of God” and the importance of having “fitted feet.” (Ephesians 6:15)
T-Shirts
Oak Crest Kids t-shirts will be available in the office starting next week! They are $15 per shirt. Support children’s ministry by picking up one for your children and for yourself!
Thank you for your prayers and for supporting children’s ministry at Oak Crest!
In Christ,
Stephenie
