June 29: NO TEAMKID
July 17-21:  VBS

POWER PLUS PRETEEN CAMP IS HERE!
We will be gone to Pineywoods Baptist Camp in Woodlake, TX from Sunday through Wednesday this coming week!  Please keep the children and sponsors in your prayers as we dive into His Word.

VBS July 17-21
Egypt: Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace
VBS recruitment is coming along very well! Thank you to all of you who have volunteered!

We still need help in the nursery, preschool,  kitchen, and greeter/monitors during the mini meal.

All of these positions are flexible and do not necessarily require you to be here every single day of vbs.  Please consider serving in this capacity!

Also, if anyone has a large tent or canopy we can borrow for the week of VBS and the week prior, please tell Stephenie Stokes or Trisha Douglas in the office.

TeamKID
Wednesdays @ 7pm in the ROCK!

TeamKID: Kids in Discipleship
It is a fun, recreation-based club for kids! TeamKID balances high-energy activities and games with high-impact Bible lessons, Scripture memorization, and life application.  It will be for kids who have COMPLETED Kindergarten in the fall through kids who have COMPLETED 5th grade!  It will coincide with Wednesday night service time and from 7pm-8pm.
We will not have a children’s program on Sunday evenings.  Families are encouraged to worship together at that time.  Child care will be provided for children ages 4 and under on both Sunday and Wednesday evenings, including a separate preschool class on Wednesday night! You can check out TeamKID at lifeway.com!

THE GOSPEL PROJECT FOR KIDS, Sundays @ 9:30am

 Unit Description:
Israel rejected God as their leader, and they demanded a king. God rejected Saul, Israel’s first king, and chose David to be king. Through David’s family, God brought forth the last King—the Redeemer Jesus Christ. Jesus is the perfect King who brings peace and salvation to the world.
Key Passage: Psalm 47:7-8
Big Picture Question: Who is our King? Jesus is our King forever, and He rules over the world.

Bible Story: David Was Anointed and Fought Goliath
Bible Passage: 1 Samuel 16–17
Main Point: God gave David power to defeat Goliath.

As we continue our journey through the big story of the Bible this week, we come to God
anointing David to replace Saul as king and David’s victory over the giant Goliath. While
Saul looked the part to be king, David didn’t look like a strong warrior and seemed to be
no match for the Philistine champion. But God gave David power and he defeated
Goliath.
God used this victory to position David as the next king and also to show us a picture of
Jesus. When Jesus came to earth, He didn’t look like a strong warrior either. But Jesus
showed His power when He died on the cross and rose again to defeat death.
Help your kids see the connection between David and Jesus. Talk about how God
defeated Israel’s enemy of Goliath and our greater enemy of sin and death. Guide your
kids to see that David doesn’t primarily teach us to be brave, but to trust in Jesus
instead.
