Pastoral Prayer
Ye Servants of God 1 Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim, And publish abroad His wonderful name; The name all-victorious of Jesus extol; His kingdom is glorious and rules over all. 2 God ruleth on high, almighty to save; And still He is nigh, His presence we have; The great congregation His triumph shall sing, Ascribing salvation to Jesus our King. 3 Salvation to God who sits on the throne, Let all cry aloud and honor the Son: The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim, Fall down on their faces and worship the Lamb. 4 Then let us adore and give Him His right, All glory and pow'r, all wisdom and might; All honor and blessing, with angels above, And thanks never-ceasing, and infinite love. And Can It Be? 1 And can it be that I should gain An int'rest in the Savior's blood? Died he for me, who caused His pain? For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me? Refrain: Amazing love! how can it be That Thou, my God, should die for me! 2 He left his Father's throne above, So free, so infinite His grace; Emptied Himself to show His love, And bled for Adam's helpless race; 'Tis mercy all, immense and free; O praise my God, it reaches me. 3 Long my imprisoned spirit lay Fast bound in sin and nature's night; Thine eye diffused a quick'ning ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth and followed Thee. 4 No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th'eternal throne, And claim the crown, thro' Christ my own. In the Cross of Christ I Glory 1 In the cross of Christ I glory, Tow'ring o'er the wrecks of time, All the light of sacred story Gathers round its head sublime. 2 When the woes of life o'ertake me, Hopes deceive and fears annoy, Never shall the cross forsake me: Lo! it glows with peace and joy. 3 When the sun of bliss is beaming Light and love upon my way, From the cross the radiance streaming Adds new luster to the day. 4 Bane and blessing, pain and pleasure, By the cross are sanctified; Peace is there that knows no measure, Joys that thro' all time abide. O Come, O Come, Emmanuel O come, Thou Wisdom from on high, And order all things, far and nigh; To us the path of knowledge show, And cause us in her ways to go. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel! All I Have Is Christ 1 ,I once was lost in darkest night Yet thought I knew the way. The sin that promised joy and life Had led me to the grave. I had no hope that You would own A rebel to Your will. And if You had not loved me first, I would refuse You still. 2 But as I ran my hell-bound race, Indifferent to the cost, You looked upon my helpless state And led me to the cross. And I beheld God’s love displayed, You suffered in my place. You bore the wrath reserved for me, Now all I know is grace. Refrain: Hallelujah! All I have is Christ. Hallelujah! Jesus is my life. 3 Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone, And live so all might see The strength to follow Your commands Could never come from me. O Father, use my ransomed life In any way You choose, And let my song forever be My only boast is You. Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It I think of my blessed Redeemer, I think of Him all the day long; I sing, for I cannot be silent; His love is the theme of my song. Refrain: Redeemed, redeemed, Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed, redeemed, His child, and forever, I am.

Pastoral Prayer
Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee 1 Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day! 2 All Thy works with joy surround Thee, earth and heaven reflect Thy rays, Stars and angels sing around Thee, center of unbroken praise. Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea, Singing bird and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in Thee. 3 Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blessed, Wellspring of the joy of living, ocean depth of happy rest! Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are Thine; Teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine. 4 Mortals, join the happy chorus, which the morning stars began; Father love is reigning o’er us, brother love binds man to man. Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife, Joyful music leads us sunward in the triumph song of life. At the Cross 1 Alas, and did my Savior bleed, And did my Sov'reign die? Would He devote that sacred head For sinners such as I? Refrain At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light, And the burden of my heart rolled away, It was there by faith I received my sight, And now I am happy all the day! 2 Was it for crimes that I had done He groaned upon the tree? Amazing pity, grace unknown, And love beyond degree! 3 Well might the sun in darkness hide, And shut his glories in, When Christ the mighty Maker died For man, the creature's sin. 4 Thus might I hide my blushing face While Calv'ry's cross appears, Dissolve my heart in thankfulness, And melt mine eyes to tears. 5 But drops of grief can ne'er repay The debt of love I owe; Here, Lord, I give myself away, 'Tis all that I can do. Ask Ye What Great Thing I Know 1 Ask ye what great thing I know That delights and stirs me so? What the high reward I win? Whose the name I glory in? Jesus Christ, the crucified. 2 What is faith's foundation strong? What awakes my lips to song? He who bore my sinful load, Purchased for me peace with God, Jesus Christ, the crucified. 3 Who is life in life to me? Who the death of death will be? Who will place me on His right With the countless hosts of light? Jesus Christ, the crucified. 4 This is that great thing I know; This delights and stirs me so: Faith in Him who died to save, Him who triumphed o'er the grave, Jesus Christ, the crucified. O Mighty Cross 1 O mighty cross, love lifted high, The Lord of life raised there to die; Refrain His sacrifice on Calvary Has made the mighty cross a tree of life to me. 2 O mighty cross, what throne of grace, He knew no sin, yet took my place; 3 O mighty cross, O Christ so pure, Love held Him there, such shame endured; 4 O mighty cross, my soul's release; The stripes He bore have brought me peace; Beneath the Cross 1 Beneath the cross of Jesus I find a place to stand, And wonder at such mercy That calls me as I am. For hands that should discard me Hold wounds which tell me come. Beneath the cross of Jesus My unworthy soul is won. 2 Beneath the cross of Jesus, His family is my own. Once strangers chasing selfish dreams; Now, one through grace alone. How could I now dishonor The ones that You have loved? Beneath the cross of Jesus, See the children called by God. 3 Beneath the cross of Jesus The path before the crown, We follow in His footsteps Where promised hope is found. How great the joy before us To be His perfect bride. Beneath the cross of Jesus, We will gladly live our lives. Because He Lives 1 God sent His Son, They called Him, Jesus; He came to love, Heal and forgive; He lived and died To buy my pardon, An empty grave is there To prove my Savior lives! 3 And then one day, I'll cross the river, I'll fight life's final War with pain; And then, as death Gives way to victory, I'll see the lights of glory And I'll know He lives! Refrain Because He lives, I can face tomorrow! Because He lives, All fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!
Pastoral Prayer
All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name 1 All hail the pow'r of Jesus' name! Let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all; Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all. 2 Ye chosen seed of Israel's race, Ye ransomed from the fall, Hail Him who saves you by His grace, And crown Him Lord of all; Hail Him who saves you by His grace, And crown Him Lord of all. 3 Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe, On this terrestrial ball, To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown Him Lord of all; To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown Him Lord of all. 4 O that with yonder sacred throng We at His feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all; We'll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all. Arise, My Soul, Arise 1 Arise, my soul, arise, Shake off thy guilty fears; The bleeding sacrifice In my behalf appears; Before the throne my Surety stands; Before the throne my Surety stands My name is written on His hands. 2 Five bleeding wounds He bears, Received on Calvary; They pour effectual prayers, They strongly speak for me; “Forgive him, oh forgive,” they cry, “Forgive him, oh forgive,” they cry “Nor let that ransomed sinner die.” 3 The Father hears Him pray, His dear Anointed One; He cannot turn away The presence of His Son; His Spirit answers to the blood, His Spirit answers to the blood, And tells me I am born of God. 4 To God I’m reconciled; His pard’ning voice I hear; He owns me for His child; I can no longer fear; With confidence I now draw nigh, With confidence I now draw nigh, And Father, Abba Father, cry! Savior, like a Shepherd Lead Us 1 Savior, like a shepherd lead us, Much we need Thy tender care; In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, For our use Thy folds prepare: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are. 2 We are Thine; do Thou befriend us, Be the guardian of our way; Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us, Seek us when we go astray: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Hear, O hear us when we pray; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Hear, O hear us when we pray. 3 Thou hast promised to receive us, Poor and sinful though we be; Thou hast mercy to relieve us, Grace to cleanse and power to free: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Early let us turn to Thee; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Early let us turn to Thee. 4 Early let us seek Thy favor; Early let us do Thy will; Blessed Lord and only Savior, With Thy love our beings fill: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still. Lamb of Glory 1 Hear the story from God's Word, That kings and priests and prophets heard. There would be a sacrifice, And blood would flow to pay sin's price. Refrain Precious Lamb of glory, Love's most wondrous story. Heart of God's redemption of man, Worship the Lamb of glory. 2 On the cross God loved the world, While all the pow'rs of hell were hurled; No one there could understand, The One they saw was Christ the Lamb. Jesus Paid It All 1 I hear the Savior say, "Thy strength indeed is small, Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all." Chorus: Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. 2 Lord, now indeed I find Thy power, and Thine alone Can change the leper's spots And melt the heart of stone. 3 For nothing good have I Whereby Thy grace to claim; I'll wash my garments white In the blood of Calv'ry's Lamb. 4 And when, before the throne, I stand in Him complete, "Jesus died my soul to save," My lips shall still repeat. |
