Worship and Discipleship Ministries
|
Adult Choir
-Those with the desire to sing join together to support the congregational worship through the singing of hymns and occasionally a special song or production. Oak Crest University -Welcome Home Class: An informative four week class held twice a year for new and potential members of Oak Crest. -Life and Faith Enrichment Classes: held periodically through out the year, these classes offer opportunities in practical life applications as well as growth and maturity in your Christian walk. Classes include: The Christian Faith (systematic theology), How to Read the Bible, personal finance and stewardship, and many more . . . |
Women's Ministry
-The women of Oak Crest host events throughout the year that support the development of relationships among the women of the church and provide opportunities for spiritual growth. Men's Ministry -The men of Oak Crest meet monthly for a Men's Fellowship Breakfast, usually on the second Saturday of the month. Senior Adult Ministry -Oak Crest has a thriving Senior Adult community of believers that meet often in different capacities and events, from Sunday School classes to parties, to monthly meetings and outings. |
Service Ministries

Stitchin' for Angels
-Provides hats, quilts and other handmade items to area hospitals and nursing homes for use by their patients. Audio/Visual Services -Provide the audio and visual requirements necessary for weekly services and special productions through the operation of sound equipment, movie projector, and spotlight. Ushers/Greeters -Greeters provide a friendly, smiling face on Sundays to members and visitors alike, answering questions and pointing visitors in the appropriate directions. -Ushers offer their services before and during the services by escorting visitors to a seat if necessary, passing out visitor information, and collecting the offering through the passing of the offering plates. Bereavement Team -Ministers to families during and after loss primarily by providing meals. Home Bound Visitation -Ministering to individuals who are no longer able to physically attend church services by bringing to them a time of fellowship through a visit. |
Hospital Visitation
-Ministering to individuals and families confined to a hospital during the course of an illness or injury through the simple act of a few minutes spent in conversation and prayer. Prayer Teams -Worship Service Prayer teams consists of one or two people that pray continually during the morning worship service, asking for God's guidance, direction and protection during the service. Library -Oak Crest has a comprehensive library of fiction and non-fiction books available to its members. Library volunteers assist in the check out process and maintenance of the library. Community Involvement -One of the ways that Oak Crest encourages community involvement is through service and support to two organizations here in Midlothian, Mission Midlothian and Manna House. |
